ENC1102 ePortfolio

ABout Me

My name is Jovan Rodriguez and I am currently a student at the University of Central Florida studying Finance in an ENC1102 class to fulfill a GEP credit in order to stay on track. This class taught me a lot more than I thought I would throughout the semester. Everyone thinks that you do not need to know English basics as you make your way throughout the course of your life unless you are an English teacher. This class proved that thought process wrong. Whether it is writing an email to a coworker or interviewing someone for a job, this class teaches you and the Professor helps guide you in the right direction.

Throughout this website, you will see different aspects of this course through which this course helped me achieve. Whether it was a small assignment or turning in my final paper. In the website there are artifacts and examples of different assignment and they display my my progress throughout the course.

I decided to go with an Outcome based layout, that formats and displays my information based on the different outcomes that meet the ENC1102 criteria. There were many ways in which I could display my information, whether it was to show progress or to show persistence. However, I chose to display my evidence by showcasing my flexibility. I started the semester with one goal in mind, and that goal was to come up with an idea for the project and execute it. Never did I imagine that the assignment would deem more difficult than I could imagine. To my surprise it could, because midway through the semester after being set on one idea and a plan on how to execute it, I decided, after thinking on it and talking to my professor, that I should switch my framework and focus. After being midway through the semester, I quickly fell behind when I switched standpoint. I feel that being behind and being able to change my standpoint and still being able to work towards my goal and do well in the class shows my flexibility and my willingness to adapt and thrive.

Style

I formatted this website using an outcome based method for the information portion of this website. For the design purpose, i chose to use more so warm colors, mostly tan. I felt this went best with my choice of nature as my main backdrop and picture background. Since I am approaching everything from a flexibility standpoint, having nature best allows me to display this.

When you are flexible, you learn to adapt and overcome obstacles in your way. Animals and nature are the best at adapting and overcoming so I felt that it was only necessary to have a nature background.
